Seepage
Pit
A
seepage pit is designed to handle
effluent from the septic tank. It takes the place of a horizontal drainfield. Absorption in a seepage pit takes place in the surrounding soil or gravel. Due to the effects of gravity, most of the absorption occurs at the bottom of the pit. Seepage pits are more difficult to treat than horizontal field and require a greater amount of product for successful treatment of failing or slow running pits. See our application page.
